From the observatory the European-castle-like landscape formed by the 600m-long canal and 240 poplar tress on both sides can be seen. Mt. Teine also appears straight ahead.
The overlook is 3km to the south from the road station Niseko View Plaza. Visitors can enjoy the scenic veiw of rural landscape, Mt. Yotei and Mt. Niseko-Annupuri.

Once the peninsula bustled with the herring fishing boats. The sea shore around Cape Kamui in combination of the sheer cliff and Shakotan blue coasts a stunning beauty.
Built in 1888, this former Hokkaido government office has another name of "Red Brick" because of its bricked western-style appearance. It is designated as a national important cultural asset.
