The Utase Boats used for Hokkai shrimp fishing in spring and fall are known as a seasonal sight of Notsuke Bay.

From early May to early June, the whole hillside of 10ha is fully covered with pinkish moth phloxes.

恵山は標高618mの活火山ですが、多くの高山植物が自生しています。特にふもとに約60万本ものツツジが咲き、毎年6月に恵山つつじまつりが開催されます。(写真提供：函館撮影）

A raft of alpine plants grow in this 618m-high active volcano of Mt. Esan. At its foot 600,000 of azaleas bloom, and Esan Azalea Festival takes place in June.

「庭先に時々訪れるエゾリスが新緑の中をスルスルと渡り歩いています。時折こちらを伺うようにカメラ目線をしてくれます。」（文・撮影：岡崎篤さん）

"Now and then, a red squirel shows up in the garden gliding through the fresh green. Once and away, it looks straight to the camera waiting and seeing how things go."

Once the peninsula bustled with the herring fishing boats. The sea shore around Cape Kamui in combination of the sheer cliff and Shakotan blue coasts a stunning beauty.

1888年北海道旧本庁舎として建築。洋風のレンガ造りの建物はその外観から「赤レンガ」と呼ばれ、国の重要文化財に指定されています。（写真撮影：浜谷映像工房）

Built in 1888, this former Hokkaido government office has another name of "Red Brick" because of its bricked western-style appearance. It is designated as a national important cultural asset.
