今日の「大好き北海道」から ★天売島のウニ漁（羽幌町） Sea Urchin Fishing around Teuri Island (Haboro)
天売島は羽幌町の沖合にある小さな島です。ウニ漁は、6月後半からのごく短い期間しか解禁されません。（撮影：谷口勲夫さん）The island stands in the offshore of Haboro. The sea urchin fishing opens only for brief period from late June.
こうした風景も北海道の風物詩のひとつなのでしょうね。それにしてもこの頃のウニは身がしまっていてさぞかし美味しそう。

氷河時代にシベリアから渡ってきたことから「生きた化石」と言われています。岩場に住んでいてオスは短く高い声で鳴きます。（写真：浜谷映像工房）Migrating from Siberia in Ice Age, the animal is called "Living Fossil". It inhabits rocky stretches, and the male cheeps at short intervals.

オホーツク海とサロマ湖に面し、「龍宮街道」と呼ばれる日本最大の海岸草原です。春から秋にかけて300種以上の草花が咲きます。（写真提供：北海道遺産協議会）Facing the Sea of Okhotsk and Lake Saroma, the Japan's largest coastal meadow is so called "Ryugu Kaido (Sea Palace Road". More than 300 sorts of flowers bloom from spring to fall.

今日の「大好き北海道」から ☆トッカリショ（室蘭市）Tokkarisho Cliff (Muroran)
100m前後の岸壁絶壁が続く海岸線と奇岩が織りなす景観は室蘭八景の一つになっています。（写真撮影：浜谷映像工房）The shorescape of the 100m-long sheer cliff harmonized with the oddly-shaped rocks is one of the eight best sceneries of Muroran.
